The Glycemic DietThe glycemic diet is a diet based on nutritional intake of foods with low glycemic index in order to control insulin levels in the blood. The glycemic index sets the levels of blood insulin concentration of the different types of food.

Operation of glycemic diet
Insulin is one substance that regulates the amount of sugar in the blood and indirectly tells our brain the need to eat or not. The glycemic diet is based on the idea that by maintaining a constant level of insulin will have a normal appetite to make us eat the required amounts.

To maintain a constant level of insulin is necessary to choose foods with low glycemic index and foods with higher glycemic index cause a greater concentration of insulin in the blood and therefore an increased appetite.
