I&#8217;ve played a lot of sport, and kept me healthy. At the age of 40, I was still actively involved in squash, tennis and golf, although the latter 2 were not as heavy as squash. At the age of 41, I gave up competitive squash, and over the next 6 months to more than 5 kg (11 pounds). By my early 50s, I was about 84kg (185 pounds), diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, depressed, and wondering where my life was going.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">At only 170cm (5 8), my BMI was too high. I had to find a way down to slim down. After getting the doctors advice about my diabetes, I began to try to do the right thing and lose weight. I ate a diet of cardboard and grass, or if you like, crackers and salad. I tried to starve, just eat protein, all the usual fads, and lost a bit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Christmas came along and I was back up again weight and feeling depressed. After trying many diets, I would always fail. I began to understand that losing weight was not easy to do. I then read how many people start diets, and how not to lose weight, or just pile the weight back on after the diet is over. I was one of them.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It became clear that the only way I was going to happen was to change my way of thinking. I began to see that there is no miracle diet. I had my calorie intake to reduce or more calories through exercise or work on. I started as much as I could on the topic, and the internet is a fantastic tool. A great resource.</p>

This is not the body to break stuff.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The reality of all this is that with severe diabetes or obesity, you can lie all day and night in a graveyard if you do not confront your weight problems. Now at the age of 55, I&#8217;m up to 75kg (165 pounds), the last blood test showed I was no longer diabetic, and I feel better in myself. Although I know that diabetes can not be cured, I am convinced that it can be controlled by controlling your weight, and especially, your fat. I am also firmly convinced that the information is king and you can never have too much information. Sites like.</p>
